Former NFL player Shilo Sanders continues to reinvent himself away from football. After being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the son of legendary Deion Sanders has decided to focus on music and his growing media career.
During the ComplexCon event, Shilo became a viral sensation after an awkward yet funny interaction with rapper Sexyy Red. While singing one of her songs, she walked right past him without recognizing him.
According to The Sports Rush, Shilo sang the lyric, “I’m out of town, thuggin’ with my rounds,” hoping Sexyy Red would finish the line. Instead, she kept walking. Surprised, Sanders caught up to her and joked, “Hey, Sexyy, you can’t just walk past me like you don’t know me!”
The rapper quickly apologized and gave him a hug, laughing: “Okay, I’m sorry, how are you?” Sanders replied playfully, “You were supposed to finish my lyrics… because I was about to drop a tape, and then you’d be like, ‘Damn, Shilo, let me hop on a song.’ But now, I’m like, damn.”

Shilo swaps the ball for the mic
His album “Hate 2 Love,” released in January, marked the start of a new chapter in his life. The former defensive back revealed that he plans to work on more collaborations. And even suggested a joint stream with Sexyy Red.
At the same event, Shilo also shared a lighthearted moment with Shareef O’Neal, son of Shaquille O’Neal. Jokingly asking him “who has the cheaper dad.”
Now, Sanders is embracing fame off the field, determined to build a new identity as an artist while keeping his trademark charisma and humor. The ex-football star has proven that he’s not just Deion’s son—he’s ready to make his own name in music and entertainment.
