Shedeur Sanders remains one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. In fact, several NFL franchises in need of a rookie QB currently have him on their radar. However, one team seems to have the edge in signing him.

The projected No. 1 pick in the draft is former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, making him Sanders’ biggest competition. However, the stats favor Sanders—in 2024, he recorded 37 touchdowns and 4,134 yards with the Colorado Buffaloes. Any team that drafts him would be making a strong investment.

Sanders could save Cleveland in 2025

The NFL team holding the No. 2 pick in the draft is the Cleveland Browns, giving them a strong chance to acquire Shedeur Sanders. In fact, they have been in contact with him since his Top 30 visit with Cleveland.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN explained on The Dan Patrick Show that the Browns have a strong interest in Sanders. “They’ve been a bit tough to read… What I do know is that they like Shedeur. To what extent, and whether they would take him at No. 2 overall, I can’t say,” he clarified.

“I know there’s some real admiration for Shedeur Sanders and his ability to process the game mentally. They have a certain level of respect for what Shedeur can do in that area, perhaps more than some other teams,” Fowler added.

Another team in contention for the top pick is the Tennessee Titans. The franchise has also shown interest in Sanders, with head coach Brian Callahan sharing his thoughts on Colorado’s QB, whom he met at the Shrine Bowl.

“What stands out the most is his toughness… He made some big throws and kept going. He can stand in the pocket and deliver. He can also move and create plays—he has the ability to escape the pocket and make things happen on his own,” Callahan said.

Despite all the projections and analyses surrounding Shedeur Sanders, everything will be decided on NFL Draft night, scheduled for April 24-26, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
