For the Jacksonville Jaguars, Saturday’s preseason game did not go as they expected. They lost 25-31 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a defeat filled with self-inflicted mistakes, especially from Travis Hunter, who went through a humiliating moment. In fact, the play went viral and became mocked by many NFL players.
Jaguars reporter Aaron Rodgers identified Hunter’s mistake in the game. It seemed that the whole team played poorly that day.
Travis Hunter’s biggest mistake
According to EssentiallySports, Rodgers said: “Not necessarily real football… I think the number one takeaway… The most important thing is that there were no injuries… That’s the biggest scare… Fortunately, it didn’t happen yesterday. We avoided the ‘I’ word… There was a lot of sloppiness in penalties… which I guess was expected, but hopefully it gets fixed.”
Rodgers added that all eyes were on Travis Hunter. He played 10 snaps on offense and eight on defense, proving he is a versatile two-way player. “Travis Hunter made some plays… and he seemed pretty solid in coverage… The only bad part is that he missed a tackle… a tackle I believe Tyson Campbell would have made… but he didn’t. So, he needs to fix that.”

Rodgers also noted that Hunter appeared distant and understated in interviews. “They asked him how he thought he played, and he said, ‘I think I did pretty well’… Dude, you missed a tackle you should have made… Most players remember their mistakes… but he didn’t seem to care.”
It’s clear that Travis Hunter has great confidence, and that’s part of what makes him stand out. However, Rodgers believes this is his ‘biggest mistake’, because that slightly arrogant mindset about his performance could affect his willingness to refine his game.
