Quinshon Judkins was on a near-perfect trajectory toward the NFL. A national champion with the Ohio State Buckeyes, selected in the second round of the 2025 Draft by the Cleveland Browns, and boasting impressive college stats—1,060 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns in his final season. The rookie had a golden opportunity within reach.

But what began as an offensive promise has turned into a legal headache. On Saturday, July 12, Quinshon Judkins was arrested in Broward County for charges of assault and domestic violence, according to official reports.

As noted by sports outlet Marca, Quinshon Judkins remained in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear before a judge on Sunday morning. Preliminary investigations confirmed the incident, and the rookie was transferred to the county’s main detention center.

contract trouble for Quinshon Judkins

The situation is further complicated because at the time of his arrest, Quinshon Judkins had still not signed his rookie contract with the Browns—caught in financial disagreements during negotiations. And as fans quickly pointed out online, the future of that contract is now up in the air. The silence from head coach Kevin Stefanski and the team’s guarded stance only deepen the uncertainty.

Reactions to Quinshon Judkins’s arrest were swift. Social media filled with messages that went from initial support to sharp disappointment. Some fans already consider his career done, while others noted the irony that the only draft pick still without a contract might be the first to vanish.

An unclear path ahead

The Quinshon Judkins situation doesn’t just affect Cleveland’s offense—it throws the franchise’s internal balance off. The Browns have already been wrestling with quarterback drama. With names like Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Joe Flacco swirling in offseason debates. Judkins adds a new chapter to an already tense storyline—one playing out well beyond the field.

The NFL could step in with disciplinary action, and if that happens. Quinshon Judkins may have to face more than rival defenses if he wants to stay in the league. For now, though, everything remains up in the air.
