Patrick Mahomes has already mapped out what he wants to do after the NFL. The star quarterback aims to follow in the footsteps of NBA legends LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

Ahead of the 2025-26 season, Mahomes is training on the NFL field while also putting other plans into action. In fact, he revealed his new ambitions to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.

Entering the business world

According to Bolavip, Patrick Mahomes has stepped into business ownership. He became the second owner of Throne Sport Coffee, a new coffee brand. His passion for coffee and interest in business made it a perfect match.

He told ESPN: “I’ve always been interested in business, just from watching my dad play sports, and then seeing other athletes like LeBron, Michael Jordan, and Alex Rodríguez. As much as you succeed in sports, business gives you pretty much the same feeling.”

The Chiefs’ star added: “It’s competition,” explaining that his new coffee brand offers a healthier option for coffee lovers. The product is low in sugar and calories and made with natural ingredients.

It’s a strong start for Mahomes as an athlete-turned-entrepreneur. He’s following the path of LeBron and Jordan, who enjoy a massive presence worldwide beyond basketball.

Mahomes’ idea came from Jimmy Butler, player for the Golden State Warriors, who founded Big Face Coffee in 2020, now a thriving brand. That’s exactly the kind of success the Chiefs quarterback is aiming for.

Patrick Mahomes wants to score big off the NFL field. He’s building his own brand with the goal of gaining global recognition in the future.
