Patrick Mahomes turned Arrowhead into his personal stage once again. On a night when the Kansas City Chiefs needed to get their rhythm back, the quarterback delivered a performance that not only reignited the team but also etched his name deeper into NFL history. With 270 passing yards and four touchdown throws, Mahomes matched Kirk Cousins’ record of 43 games with three or more touchdown passes. But he wasn’t done.

Thanks to an eight-yard strike to Isiah Pacheco before halftime, Patrick Mahomes became the fastest quarterback to reach 250 career touchdown passes. He did it in just 116 games, beating Aaron Rodgers’ previous mark of 121. “We’re going for 500,” Mahomes said with swagger after the game, making it clear his ambition has no ceiling.

One celebrates, the other suffers

While Patrick Mahomes celebrated, Lamar Jackson endured another rough night in Kansas City. The Ravens quarterback left the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. His backup, Cooper Rush, couldn’t keep the offense afloat, and Baltimore fell 37–20. With this loss, Jackson’s record at Arrowhead as a visitor dropped to 0–4—a stat that’s starting to weigh on him beyond the numbers.

According to TheSportsRush, the Ravens entered the season as Super Bowl favorites, but their start has been disappointing. They sit at 1–3, and questions about their leader’s health are mounting. Meanwhile, the Chiefs—underdogs at home for only the second time since Patrick Mahomes took over—proved they’re still a force in the AFC.

Next week heats up

Both teams face manageable opponents in the upcoming week: Baltimore takes on the Texans, while Kansas City Chiefs meets the Jaguars. But the spotlight remains on them. Patrick Mahomes, for his drive and consistency. Lamar Jackson, for his talent and the ghosts he still hasn’t shaken at Arrowhead.

And while one keeps rewriting history, the other searches for healing. The NFL keeps moving, but Sunday belonged to Patrick Mahomes—and to records that no longer seem to contain him. We’ll have to wait and see if the quarterback keeps up this pace as the season unfolds.
