NThe Dallas Cowboys are analyzing potential trades to strengthen their team for the 2025 season. However, the involvement of Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, could change the entire outlook for the quarterback’s desired move.

Dallas executives see Stafford, currently with the Los Angeles Rams, as a key piece in achieving their objectives. Apparently, one of the reasons the Rams are considering trading him is precisely the actions of his wife, Kelly Hall.

Kelly’s online presence doesn’t help Matthew Stafford

Kelly Stafford has spoken about several topics during the offseason. In fact, she has commented on her husband’s future and the potential trade of Cooper Kupp. According to FS1’s Colin Cowherd, the Rams are not happy about this.

“The Rams like Matt Stafford, but they are getting tired of the constant chatter about the quarterback and his wife publicly saying things… Not very happy with Cooper Kupp making public something they tried to keep quiet… They are a bit over Cooper Kupp, and with that, a little over Matt Stafford. They like him, but they don’t want to restructure his contract and give him a new deal.”

Matthew Stafford’s wife is far from shy when it comes to speaking in public, and she always says what she feels. That is precisely what has the Rams upset. In fact, it could impact Stafford’s trade to any other NFL team.

The New York Giants are also considering a trade for Stafford. However, in theory, that trade does not include Kelly. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by the reactions to her comments, as she only wants what’s best for her family and her husband, Matthew Stafford.

It is normal for NFL players’ family members to have a voice. However, limits should be set, as it can directly impact trades, as seen in this case.
