Before Week 2 of the NFL regular season, it remains unclear if Jalen Carter will face suspension for spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The incident happened during a heated exchange in the season opener. Kelly Stafford shared her opinion and left everyone stunned.
As soon as Carter spat on Prescott, officials ejected him from the game, which some believe already counted as a punishment. He also had to pay Prescott $57,222, yet the NFL has not issued an official statement. Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford’s wife managed to joke about it.
A good opportunity for Matthew Stafford
According to The Sports Rush, Kelly Stafford joked that she wished Carter had spat on her husband instead of Prescott. Although she said it playfully, she made it clear she was not happy about the ugly situation on the field.

“Honestly, I went up to Matthew and said: ‘Could you have gone against him before the game?’ Because that’s the guy who tackled Matthew to knock the Rams out. So I thought, ‘Damn, I wish he [Jalen Carter] had spit on you [Matthew],’” Kelly said on The Morning After.
To lighten the mood, Stafford’s wife added a wordplay: “It was the spit heard around the world… the illegal loogie that got him.”
Matthew Stafford also chimed in, joking: “The projection that led to the ejection… It was pretty facucet facial, so to speak… A little football phlegm instead of pregame football.”
In a contact sport like football, incidents like this happen often. While some take them personally, others turn them into jokes. That’s the NFL—a league where nobody gets bored.
