The Kansas City Chiefs made a significant move by signing Robert Rochell, a former member of the Green Bay Packers. This decision is crucial for the Chiefs, as they have added a cornerback who has been a key contributor to his previous team.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Chiefs and Rochell have finalized the deal. Rochell, who played intermittently with the Packers in the 2024 NFL season, will now join the Chiefs’ roster, strengthening their defense.
A valuable cornerback addition for the Chiefs
Rochell previously played for the Los Angeles Rams before joining the Packers in 2023. Over the last two seasons with Green Bay, he participated in 20 games, accumulating 233 special teams repetitions. Now, with his skills and experience, Rochell will contribute to the Chiefs as they aim for another Super Bowl appearance.

However, Rochell’s move is not the only change for the Packers this offseason. Corey Ballentine has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, and Eric Stokes has moved to the Las Vegas Raiders. Both players, like Rochell, had defensive playing time before his signing.
This leaves only a few players remaining from the Packers’ roster who have not yet joined another NFL team. Tackle Andre Dillard, tight end Tyler Davis, and tight end John FitzPatrick are still waiting for new contracts. Interestingly, FitzPatrick is now an unrestricted free agent for the season.
Now that Rochell has joined the Chiefs, the Packers’ cornerback group includes Keisean Nixon, Nate Hobbs, Carrington Valentine, Kalen King, Kamal Hadden, Isaiah Dunn, and Kaleb Hayes (who is on a future/reserve contract). Furthermore, Jaire Alexander, one of the top cornerbacks, remains with the Packers but is expected to be traded during the offseason.
