Josh Allen is at a high point in his career. He’s about to smash through records that would place him among the elite quarterbacks in NFL history. In the 2025 season, the Buffalo Bills quarterback is firmly on track to hit 30,000 career passing yards.

At 29 years old, Josh Allen has already racked up 26,434 passing yards, and according to The Sport Rush, he needs only 1,556 more to pass Terry Bradshaw—the four-time Super Bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Allen matches his season average from 2020 to 2023 (4,385 yards), he’ll end this year with over 30,800 yards. That would also move him past Ken Stabler, Joe Namath, and George Blanda.

Josh Allen isn’t chasing stats just for the numbers

But Josh Allen’s story goes way beyond calculators and box scores. Last season’s MVP isn’t just driven by dazzling individual stats. After signing a $330 million contract and marrying Hailee Steinfeld, it may look like he has it all. Yet something’s still missing—the coveted Lombardi Trophy. That lingering frustration remains. “Playoff Mahomes” is still a shadow he can’t outrun, and Buffalo hopes this season will finally be the long-awaited redemption arc.

In Bills franchise history, Josh Allen has already passed Jim Kelly in playoff touchdown passes (with 21). He still trails Kelly in career passing yards, though. Kelly famously led Buffalo to four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s, but never clinched a title. Allen wants to rewrite that unfinished chapter. If he succeeds, his legacy wouldn’t just belong to the record books—it would live in the soul of a city that’s waited decades to celebrate.

Josh Allen’s journey kicks off with a Sunday Night Football showdown against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on September 7. Jackson, another electrifying talent from the 2018 draft class, has carved out an impressive path—but Josh Allen leads him by over 6,000 passing yards.

Josh Allen carries not just hopes or stat lines—he carries a hunger. One yard, one throw, one game at a time, he’s chasing more than records. He’s chasing history.
