Joe Burrow recently shared a health update. He underwent surgery on a toe injury, which will sideline him for months and take him out of the NFL season. Will his dream of leading the Cincinnati Bengals to glory end once again?
Contrary to expectations, Burrow didn’t start this season as experts predicted. Unfortunately, during the second week of preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he got sacked in the second quarter and injured his toe. Traditional recovery methods failed, and he had to go under the knife.
A dream slipping away again for Burrow
According to Firstsportz, Burrow’s injury was severe, but he successfully came out of surgery. However, he will miss three months of play, a huge frustration since he was in his best shape before the incident.

In a recent Instagram post, Burrow shared an emotional message that left fans stunned, hinting he’ll be out for a long time. Alongside three photos, his caption read: “This game will break your heart. See you soon.”
Burrow’s endless injury history
Burrow’s injury history seems relentless. In 2020, as a rookie, he tore both his ACL and MCL, a brutal injury that could have ended his career. Yet, he overcame it and continued with the Bengals.
The following year, he sprained his MCL and dislocated his pinky in the Super Bowl. In 2023, he suffered a knee strain and a torn wrist ligament, which sidelined him in Week 10.
Everyone expected Burrow to redeem himself this season, but once again, fate keeps him off the field, forcing the Bengals to manage without their star quarterback.
