Jason Kelce won’t be suiting up on September 14, but that doesn’t mean he’s taking a backseat in the highly anticipated clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Eagles center, now retired, teamed up with his brother Travis Kelce to announce a special event that’s set to turn the pregame into a full-blown celebration for fans.

Through their joint podcast New Heights, the Kelce brothers revealed plans for a free tailgate on game day—specifically five hours before kickoff. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. near Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs will be looking to settle the score after a tough loss to the Eagles back in February. That 40-22 defeat was more lopsided than the final score suggests, and the Chiefs haven’t forgotten. As originally reported by Athlon Sports, the Kelces are aiming to turn the day into more than just a football game—it’s a full-on experience.

Tailgate for everyone

The tailgate will feature contests, New Heights merch giveaways, a photo booth, live DJ, cornhole games, a giant screen to catch other NFL matchups, and chill zones for fans to hang out. No registration is required, but entry will be first-come, first-served. Jason Kelce described it as a way to celebrate football beyond the scoreboard—and to connect with fans in a laid-back, festive atmosphere.

While Jason Kelce’s event promises to be a spectacle on its own, the spotlight remains on the game. The Chiefs arrive hungry for redemption and with key reinforcements. One standout is Josh Simmons from Ohio State, who’s been turning heads in training camp. His role will be crucial in protecting Patrick Mahomes against an Eagles defense that, despite losing names like Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, still packs a punch.

Staying active and enjoying football

Jason Kelce, who hung up his cleats after last season, continues to stay visible through media and events. But this tailgate marks a new kind of involvement—off the field, yet directly shaping the fan experience. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce will be in the thick of it, aiming to lead the Chiefs in a rematch that could set the tone for the season.

September 14 won’t just be another game. It’ll be a full day of football, community, and entertainment. And if anyone knows how to blend all that with humor and authenticity, it’s Jason Kelce.
