The New England Patriots are experiencing an unexpected resurgence driven by Drake Maye’s progress. The second-year quarterback has led the team to an impressive 11-2 record. With that performance, the Patriots moved to the top of the AFC. But while his on-field growth draws praise, another story captured fans’ attention: his wife, Ann Michael Maye, became a viral sensation. Her baking videos exploded on TikTok and boosted her popularity overnight.

Maye did not hide his excitement during his appearance on “WEEI Afternoons,” according to NESN. “It has been amazing,” he said. He shared that Ann Michael is fully immersed in her “Bakemas” series. She prepares a new recipe every day leading up to Christmas. The quarterback admitted he enjoys tasting everything she bakes. He even said he tries to bring some leftovers to the Patriots’ facility to share. Their relationship goes back to childhood, which adds a sentimental touch to this parallel story.

The “Bakemas” phenomenon lifts the mood in New England

According to the New York Post, Ann Michael’s TikTok account has nearly 200,000 followers. Her December 1 video surpassed 1.5 million views. Fan reaction has been intense. “Long live the Queen of New England,” one commenter wrote. Another user joked, “Gisele never did Bakemas with us.” Those messages show how quickly the community embraced the franchise’s new media figure.

Positive energy also surrounds Maye’s athletic growth. The quarterback has thrown 23 touchdowns and six interceptions in 13 games. He improved significantly from his rookie season, when he posted 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His evolution positioned New England as the AFC’s No. 2 seed, restoring their competitiveness after years of uncertainty following the Brady-Belichick era.

A major test awaits. The Patriots will host the Buffalo Bills in a high-stakes divisional matchup. They will try to complete the sweep against Josh Allen and his team, something they have not accomplished since 2019. New England stunned Buffalo in October with a 23-20 win. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. It will be a decisive opportunity to confirm the Patriots’ status as contenders in the conference.
