U.S. President Donald Trump strongly criticized the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny as the headliner of the Super Bowl LX halftime show. Trump argued that the Puerto Rican artist is not suitable for an event of such magnitude.
The NFL final will take place on February 7 in Santa Clara, California. However, the halftime show announcement has ignited backlash among Republicans, many of whom reject Spanish-language music.
A case of discrimination against latinos?
According to Mundo Deportivo, Trump called the decision “absolutely ridiculous.” He stated on Greg Kelly Reports: “I’ve never heard of him… I don’t know who he is or why they’re doing this. It’s crazy. Absolutely ridiculous.”
Trump and his MAGA influencers look so stupid attacking Bad Bunny. The guy has more crossover appeal than any living celebrity. He’s the number one streaming artist in the world, he headlines WWE pay-per-views, he hosts SNL, he fills stadiums, he stars in movies. The fuck are you… pic.twitter.com/mVo0WseW9b

Following Bad Bunny’s announcement as the main performer, Corey Lewandowski, a Homeland Security adviser, warned that the U.S. government would deploy ICE agents during the show. Days later, the White House clarified that no immigration raids were planned for the event.
On Saturday, Bad Bunny addressed the criticism during Saturday Night Live (SNL), saying: “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn Spanish.”
He added, “This isn’t just my achievement — it’s a victory for all Latinos, proving that our impact and contribution to this country can never be erased.”
Bad Bunny has long opposed Trump’s policies. The artist previously refused to perform in the United States out of concern that ICE raids could target his concerts, choosing instead to perform in Puerto Rico.
