DJ Moore, wide receiver for the Bears, was hospitalized after leaving the Commanders’ stadium in Landover, Maryland. Following Monday’s game, where the Bears defeated the Commanders 25-24, the team transferred him to the hospital as a precaution.
The 28-year-old player caught three passes for 42 yards, contributing to the Bears’ win. His efforts set up Jake Moody’s 38-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.
Precautionary measure to protect Moore
According to the New York Post, no details have been released about DJ Moore’s condition. The team confirmed it was “precautionary medical attention”. In fact, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Moore was joking in the Bears’ locker room immediately after the game, before boarding the ambulance.

Early in the second quarter, the Bears took a 13-0 lead, thanks to quarterback Caleb Williams’ one-yard touchdown. Later, Washington made an impressive comeback, taking a 17-16 lead by the end of the third quarter. The key play was a 33-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels to wide receiver Luke McCaffrey.
At the start of the fourth quarter, Daniels threw another touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz, putting the Commanders ahead by eight. However, the Bears responded quickly, setting up Moody’s decisive kick. Williams connected with running back D’Andre Swift for a 55-yard touchdown pass.
Moody went 5-for-4 on field goals in his Bears debut. He attempted a 48-yard kick early in the fourth quarter, but it was blocked, leaving the Commanders ahead by one.
This season, Moody has 19 receptions for 215 yards and one touchdown. Williams’ main support has come from second-year wide receiver Rome Odunze.
This is Moore’s third season with the Chicago Bears. He previously played for the Panthers but was traded for Bryce Young in 2023. The team currently has three consecutive wins and will face the Saints on Sunday. It remains uncertain if DJ Moore will play in that game.
