In recent years, Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb has dealt with multiple physical injuries. His condition has raised concerns for head coach DeMeco Ryans, who spoke openly about the running back’s current status.
Chubb will stay with Houston for the 2025–26 NFL season, but his coach is clear about the challenges ahead. After the injuries Chubb has suffered, it won’t be easy to fully unleash all of his abilities.
Does he still have a lot to give on the field?
According to information published by Bolavip, Ryans shared his thoughts on Chubb: “When it comes to Chubb—and how do I compare him? You know, guys get older… He’s been through a lot. It’s not always going to be like his first years in the NFL, but what I respect most about him is that this guy loves football. He’s physical, he plays the right way, he prepares the right way, and he’s a really sharp guy when it comes to the protection scheme.”

Ryans also noted that Chubb focuses not only on himself, adding: “He’s in it. He’s helping the guys. I’m excited to watch him play football—that’s what he’s always been, a tremendous football player, especially when he’s healthy. So he’s still working to come back. He looks like he’s in really good shape and will continue to improve.”
Chubb previously played for the Cleveland Browns, where he stood out as one of the best running backs in the NFL. Many experts believed he would land on a top-tier team. However, everything changed in 2023, when a serious knee injury sidelined him for a significant period.
Now, his goal is to revive his career with the Houston Texans. He must now focus on training and staying healthy to prove he still has the potential to become a key player for the franchise.
