Dak Prescott felt relief when Micah Parsons left the Cowboys for the Packers. Apparently, Prescott was concerned about his former teammate, whose contract extension drama with Dallas lasted a long time. He didn’t want to head into the first NFL game of the season without this situation resolved.

Last week, Parsons’ trade became official. He was exchanged for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks. Recently, Dak Prescott shared his opinion on the trade, according to ESPN.

A peaceful solution closes the Parsons chapter in Dallas

According to the New York Post, Parsons’ trade ended the conflict with Jerry Jones. It was a relief for the Cowboys quarterback, who said: “That would have been much more of a headache and a distraction than getting a solution… It seemed personal on his part, so I wasn’t surprised (by the trade).”

Next Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys open the regular season against the Eagles. For Prescott, this is exciting because of the addition of new teammates, and he said: “I’m not going to say we are better. We have to go out and prove it. We had to prove it even with the team I had, so I won’t say that… But I know what it means to add a guy like Kenny Clark, a true leader, a real man who will only lift this team, a Pro Bowl player who is excited to be here.”

Prescott is clear about the team’s current goal: “I know our focus right now is Philadelphia. I think that’s everyone’s focus in the locker room. I don’t think anyone is obsessed with [the Parsons trade]. As I’ve said, there’s enough news and media about it. More than anything, it’s good that a solution happened. Obviously, Micah got paid—very well—and good for him and his family. We’ll see him here in about a month.”
