Aaron Rodgers delivered a clear criticism after the Steelers’ heavy loss to the Bills. The team fell 26-7 at home and showed worrying flaws in the passing game and route execution. The quarterback stressed the need for immediate cohesion. His message aimed to wake up a locker room that seems to be losing rhythm as the end of the regular season approaches.
Rodgers spoke bluntly about the group’s commitment. “When there’s film sessions, everybody shows up, and when I’m going over a route, you run the right route,” he said after the defeat. His tone reflected irritation and urgency. The veteran also emphasized the importance of maximizing every collective opportunity. “We have our meetings every week. We have other opportunities outside the facility, and [I] expect to see everybody there.”
A disconnected offense at a critical moment
According to the New York Post, the offense showed clear miscommunication. Rodgers failed to connect on a deep pass with Roman Wilson in the first half. Jonnu Smith also ran the opposite route from what was designed during a crucial red-zone play. Rodgers later explained what happened. “Jonnu and I just were not on the same page,” he said. The quarterback reviewed an in-breaker while Smith ran an out-breaker. He added the tight end was likely “sick” over the mistake.

Rodgers played with several fractures in his left wrist. However, that didn’t prevent criticism of his production. He finished with only 117 yards, one fumble, and 10 completions on 21 attempts. He even left the game briefly after a hit from Joey Bosa that caused a bleeding cut. Mason Rudolph entered and threw an interception.
The defense didn’t respond either. It allowed 249 rushing yards and gave Josh Allen full control. The crowd expressed frustration, especially toward coach Mike Tomlin. “Man, I share their frustration tonight,” Tomlin said. He also acknowledged he understood the public’s discontent.
The Steelers started 4-1 but now sit at 6-6. Two key matchups against the Ravens await. The first will be Sunday in Baltimore.
