Baseball is a sport full of emotions, both in the stands and on the field. Mitch Voit, a standout hitter for the Michigan Wolverines, knows this all too well. His performance helped secure a decisive victory for his team, but it was his adrenaline-fueled celebration that sparked debate and lit up social media.

In an exciting game with its share of drama, the University of Michigan Wolverines baseball team delivered a commanding 11-0 win over the USC Trojans.

A star with a controversial edge

The Wolverines dominated the game, led by standout performances from Colby Turner and Mitch Voit. Turner recorded three hits and drove in six runs, while Voit couldn’t contain his excitement after hitting a triple.

Voit quickly went viral for his unusual celebration. The Wolverines player made a peculiar and bold reference to cocaine during the game. This happened after he hit a triple to center field in the second inning.

To be precise, Voit celebrated his first of three hits by mimicking the act of inhaling a chalk line from third base. According to reports from some media outlets, it was initially believed that the Wolverines player had sustained an injury.

Social media erupts

Voit fell to the ground, appearing to have hurt his face. However, within seconds, he got on his knees and acted out an entire scene, moving his head along the third-base line. This peculiar celebration by the Wolverines player caused a stir and sparked a heated debate online.

“Wild! He’s from Wisconsin, used to playing basketball in the snow,” one X user commented. Another joked, “Random drug test incoming after the game.” Meanwhile, the University of Michigan has yet to comment on their player’s gesture.

Voit, a Wolverines player hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has had a standout career. He was recently named Big Ten Player of the Week, boasting an impressive batting average of .667/.739/1.222 over five games. His future looks bright, but it seems he’s also becoming quite the social media sensation.
