During North Carolina’s victory over Stanford, the spotlight wasn’t just on the field. Jennifer Schmitt, Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law, and Jordon Hudson, the legendary coach’s young girlfriend, both attended the game. However, they avoided any public interaction. No photos captured them together or exchanging words, fueling rumors of tension between the two.

Hudson, 24, wore a stylish outfit—a white blouse, blue skirt, and a necklace that read “Forbidden,” seemingly a jab at the earlier rumors claiming she was banned from the football facilities. Schmitt, Stephen Belichick’s wife, chose a similar look but didn’t share space with her father-in-law’s girlfriend.

The strain between them is undeniable

According to the New York Post, the distance isn’t surprising following a comment Schmitt left on social media months ago. She had criticized Hudson’s behavior during the controversial CBS Sunday Morning interview. At that time, Hudson interrupted the host to shield Belichick from a personal question. Schmitt wrote, “Publicists act professionally and don’t ‘walk off’ set delaying an interview.

Belichick’s relationship with Hudson became public in the summer of 2024 and has since drawn constant media attention. Personalities like Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski defended Hudson, saying she acted as Belichick’s publicist, while comedian Nikki Glaser supported that claim.

Meanwhile, Stephen Belichick, UNC’s defensive coordinator, is enjoying a strong run with the Tar Heels. With their win over Stanford, the team improved to 4-5 on the season, marking two consecutive victories after defeating Syracuse.

Even though the spotlight was supposed to stay on football, family and media tension stole part of the show. Schmitt and Hudson shared a stadium—but not a single word. And in the Belichick family, that silence speaks volumes.
