Colorado suffered another nightmare performance. Just a week after losing to Utah, the Buffaloes collapsed 52-17 against Arizona, confirming the team’s worst stretch of the season. The matchup at Folsom Field exposed a group completely out of rhythm, despite the pregame motivation from their leader, Shedeur Sanders. The quarterback walked onto the field wearing a shirt that read: “The rejected will be respected.”

The message inspired fans, but the team’s performance failed to back it up. From the opening snap, the Buffaloes showed poor organization and played without intensity. Starting quarterback Kaidon Salter, who transferred from Liberty, threw for only 49 yards and committed two turnovers. Head coach Deion “Prime” Sanders replaced him with Ryan Staub, but things went from bad to worse.

A complete collapse

According to Firstsportz, Staub completed two passes—both to Arizona defenders. Searching for any spark, Prime turned to five-star freshman Julian Lewis, who connected with Omarion Miller for a late touchdown. But by then, the damage was already done. Fans in Boulder watched helplessly as Arizona extended its lead without facing any real resistance.

Wildcats quarterback Noah Fifita dominated the game, throwing for 213 yards and scoring four touchdowns on just 19 attempts. Arizona earned its fifth victory of the season (5-3), while Colorado dropped to a disappointing 3-6 and sank deeper in the conference standings.

Before the game, Deion Sanders demanded a “complete reset” and challenged his players to fight for a bowl game. Instead, the Buffaloes responded with constant mistakes, played weak defense, and showed no rhythm on offense.

Shedeur Sanders’ pregame statement lost its power once the scoreboard revealed the harsh truth: the Buffaloes remain far from the level Prime promised. Neither belief nor locker-room energy stopped a defeat that could define the rest of their season.
