As the NFL draft approaches, everything is speculative. Even though teams may have their moves clear, nothing is confirmed, and everything can change at any moment. In this scenario, Shedeur Sanders is waiting to see what the Raiders‘ play will be and if he will be involved. Meanwhile, the team is working hard to find an elite defender who might be a better option for the franchise.

The NFL draft is getting closer. One of the top favorites to be picked early is Shedeur Sanders, the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback. Much has been said about the young player wanting to be selected by the Raiders, and he has been making some moves to get their attention, as well as that of Tom Brady. However, the franchise is in a complex situation.

The fate of Shedeur Sanders

Experts’ opinions on where Deion Sanders’ son will be picked in the NFL draft are divided. Some promote him among the top picks, others are less encouraging. However, most agree that Shedeur Sanders will be selected in the top 5.

This represents a problem. The Raiders currently have the number 6 pick. If another team picks Shedeur Sanders earlier, they will be left without the quarterback. But according to rumors, the Las Vegas franchise is also interested in an elite defender.

If this is the case, the Raiders would overlook young Shedeur Sanders and focus on another player. Additionally, much has been said about Sanders’ appeal declining, especially after his participation in the NFL Combine. There are even mock draft predictions that place the young Colorado player within the Raiders’ reach. However, they might pass on him because they also have their eyes on Georgia defender Jalon Walker.

“With Tom Brady in the mix, the Raiders will likely start targeting prospects known for their leadership and love for the game, guys like Walker,” wrote Lance Zierlein of NFL.com.

Possibilities

While Shedeur Sanders may be one of the best quarterbacks in college football, the Raiders might look for a quarterback in free agency. Rumors mention names like Malcolm Koonce and K’Lavon Chaisson, who both seem ready for the market in the offseason.

For now, nothing is clear, so we’ll have to wait and see if the Raiders go for Shedeur Sanders, attempting to improve their draft position. Or if they pass on him in favor of other players that better fit the team.
