Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is on his way out of the team. Now, he is one of the most uncertain prospects in the upcoming draft due to the injuries he suffered last season. However, he remains one of the top candidates to rise or fall in the NFL Combine rankings.

The young football star is thinking about his immediate future, so he sought advice from a Super Bowl-winning head coach. He knows he has the tools to stand out on an NFL team.

Quinn Ewers had a tough season with the Longhorns in 2024. The team achieved great victories but also suffered major defeats. However, he finished the season on a high note after a decisive playoff game against Arizona State.

Things went differently in the game against the Ohio State Buckeyes, which ended poorly for his college football career. However, one of Ewers’ plays in that game stood out. It was a fumble recovered by Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer, who ran it back for a game-sealing touchdown.

Who is training Quinn Ewers?

The big surprise in Quinn Ewers’ preparation is that he has been training in Texas with Mike McCarthy, former head coach of the Cowboys. NFL insider Tom Pelissero revealed this through NFL Network.

“McCarthy said he has been really impressed with Quinn Ewers’ focus and attention to detail at such a young age. They have spent hours talking about football,” Pelissero stated. Now, it remains to be seen which NFL team will draft Quinn Ewers as he begins his journey into professional football.

The former Cowboys coach was fired after Super Bowl VIX and is currently unemployed. It seems he has decided to focus on the 2026 hiring cycle, meaning he won’t coach in the NFL this season.
