Cooper Flagg is the most representative image of the Duke Blue Devils, a team holding the second spot and advancing firmly toward the NCAA tournament. This is largely due to the performance of the talented 18-year-old on the court. The college sensation is amidst a lot of speculation about his professional future.

With a crucial decision around the corner, Cooper Flagg must decide whether to enter the NBA or continue for another year in college basketball. The rookie is projected as the possible number 1 pick in the NBA draft. However, he seems uncertain about entering the big leagues.

Cooper Flagg’s decision

Indeed, speculation about his future hasn’t ceased since Cooper Flagg hinted at wanting to return to Duke for another season. “I want to come back next year,” said the Duke Blue Devils’ point guard. These comments raised alarms, but perhaps it was a reflection of the young player’s excitement from playing with the team.

Many sports experts and analysts see this as unlikely because Cooper Flagg has worked hard to be considered a generational talent. Additionally, many believe his spot as the number one draft pick is secure. With this, he would opt for higher endorsements, name, image licenses, and much more.

Regarding this, former Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski shared his thoughts on Cooper Flagg’s decision. “There are many factors at play, but in Cooper’s case, he should do what he believes is best for him,” the coach said on his SiriusXM show.

A Unique opportunity

Moreover, Krzyzewski added that it’s about being smart. “What I want is to be smart. Be smart for you. You can only do this once and you’ll only have this opportunity for a certain time. And really, we’re talking about generational wealth, real generational wealth if you do it the right way.”

It seems Cooper Flagg doesn’t have it easy, bearing the weight of a significant decision. This has been a fantastic season for the player wearing number 2 for the Devils. This makes him a favorite for the National Player of the Year award, alongside Auburn forward Johni Broome.

If we talk about statistics, Cooper Flagg has impressive ones. He averages 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, along with 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. All this makes the young talent the undisputed leader of the Blue Devils.

Additionally, in one of his most recent games against Florida State on Saturday, Cooper Flagg dazzled with the ball again. He scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists, and made two steals. This game improved the Dukes’ position. Only two regular-season games remain. Despite having much on his mind, it’s clear that Flagg and the Devils are firmly at the top of the ACC standings.
