A new and exciting chapter has begun for Arch Manning. He is now the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, following Quinn Ewers’ departure from the team as he prepares to join an NFL franchise.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian has handed the program over to Manning. Last season, the rising star started two games, proving his potential and earning his new role. However, the challenge ahead won’t be easy, as the team must address several internal issues.
A major Challenge for the Longhorns’ quarterback
The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning attended spring practice with his team, stepping into his full-time starting role for the first time. Arch Manning showcased his powerful arm, forming an excellent connection with Parker Livingstone, a second-year wide receiver who has become his go-to target.

Despite their strong performance in practice, Manning and his team face significant challenges. The Longhorns lost all three of their top wide receivers to the NFL this season, creating a major gap in the passing game.
Additionally, DeAndre Moore is sidelined with an injury and will miss the spring season. On top of that, four of the team’s five starting offensive linemen have also left for the NFL, adding to the list of obstacles.
High hopes remain despite the changes
Even with these roster changes, analysts and fans remain optimistic about the Longhorns’ potential. Currently, they are considered the second-best team in contention for the championship, with +650 odds, just behind Ohio State (+600). Texas will face Ohio State in their season opener for 2025.
Fans of NCAA college football are betting that Arch Manning can lead the team to the top. However, their success will depend on how well they integrate the new players and their performance on the field.
