The Golden State Warriors have embraced technology and robotics to enhance their training and daily routines. The NBA team is making the most of artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize its workflow before, during, and after practices.

In a recent Instagram post, the Warriors showcased how AI is becoming an integral part of their day-to-day operations. They also highlighted the advantages of using this technology to improve efficiency in training sessions.

Robots speed up activities

The video features several clips showing how Warriors players and staff interact with the robots. Head coach Steve Kerr humorously commented, “I treat them like any other player… get out of here… give me another one… I told you, you’re supposed to be there.” He added that working with the robots now “feels natural; they can replicate any player.”

Stephen Curry demonstrated how one of the robots assists him by passing balls during shooting drills. “At first, it was strange having all these robots moving around and doing things, but now they’re just part of the daily routine… we’ve developed a good rhythm… they definitely enhance our practices,” he said.

Meanwhile, Warriors power forward Draymond Green shared his experience interacting with the robots, emphasizing how they push players to improve their physical condition. “This guy makes me feel like Luke Skywalker… it’s like my own R2-D2,” he joked.

Meet Gary, the ultimate training assistant

The video also introduces Gary, the most advanced robot in the facility. It assists with organizing training sessions and restocking supplies, allowing coaches and staff to focus entirely on the athletes rather than logistics.
