Stephen Curry’s sister, Sydel Curry, expressed her excitement about her husband Damion Lee retiring from the NBA. The veteran currently plays for the Phoenix Suns, but he is very close to leaving the league for good.

Lee plans to revive his career in the Middle East with Ironi Nes Ziona of the Israeli Ligat ha’Al. This means that Sydel Curry and her children will completely change their lives when they move to Israel and start a new chapter.

According to Essentiallysports, Sydel posted a story on Instagram with the caption: “Last date before he leaves 🥺😭.” The photo showed the Golden State Warriors player at a sushi restaurant.

A significant change for the Lee Curry family

However, this change is not sudden. Lee’s role in the NBA gradually declined. In 2022, he averaged 12.7 points per game, but that number dropped to just 3.3 points last season.

Roster changes and injuries pushed him further away from the court, forcing him to look for alternatives to keep playing professionally. That’s how he signed with the Israeli team.

The signing became official through a joint Instagram account between Lee and Ironi Nes Ziona. On August 23, the message was clear: “Welcome Damion! 🧡 The NBA champion lands in the heart of the community.” This means that Steph Curry’s sister will now spend more time in the Middle East.

For Lee, this is not an ending but the continuation of his basketball career abroad. Ironi Nes Ziona gave him the chance to keep playing rather than fade away on the Warriors’ bench.

Damion Lee’s NBA journey will not be forgotten. He entered the league in 2016, won a championship with the Golden State Warriors, played 315 games, and became a strong example of resilience.
