The Golden State Warriors faced a night of adjustments and reactions against the Utah Jazz. Steve Kerr acknowledged his team’s defensive vulnerability, but he focused primarily on restoring the offensive flow lost in their previous three losses.
The game began with an 11-0 run in favor of the Jazz. Kerr did not initially grasp the severity of the defensive issues until Keyonte George made his fourth flawless three-pointer. Despite this, Kerr still labeled the situation a “lack of focus,” a point Stephen Curry agreed with. The coach aimed to adjust his team’s defensive plans against George and Lauri Markkanen, and an early timeout helped refocus the squad.
An immediate wake-up call
According to Essentiallysports, Curry voiced his concern about the defense: “That’s the most important thing. Understanding how they try to defend, who will have the ball in their hands. But you have to put in a little, you know, step by step to mount 48 minutes of solid, proud defense from start to finish. We know we haven’t done that yet.”

Without Draymond Green on the court, the defense responded slowly, but Kerr helped the Warriors stick to the plan. From the second quarter, they limited the Jazz to just 15.4% on three-pointers, showing a completely different team after adjustments. Nevertheless, the urgency to maintain focus on the game strategy remains clear.
Stephen Curry led the offense with 31 points and six three-pointers in 29 minutes. Buddy Hield and Jimmy Butler delivered solid performances, securing a 108-82 victory over the Jazz. The offensive flow proved crucial to the Warriors’ defensive speed.
Although Kerr initially appeared unconcerned about the defensive problems, his attack-focused strategy paid off. Golden State now aims to solidify this performance and maintain a positive streak this season.
