Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant became Lakers legends, while Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant made history with the Golden State Warriors. All four players stood out as cornerstones for their teams in the NBA.

That’s why someone asked O’Neal who would win in a 2-on-2 matchup: him and Kobe Bryant against Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

His answer shocked the audience

According to Bolavip, Shaq values the idea of pairing himself with Bryant and Curry with Durant. But when Overtime asked the question, Shaquille O’Neal took offense and responded bluntly:

“Stop it… What are you doing? Steph and KD against Kobe and me? Who the hell is going to guard me? That’s the dumbest question I’ve ever heard in my life,” said the Hall of Famer, making it clear that he believes neither Durant nor Curry could guard him.

It’s hard to imagine either Warriors player stopping O’Neal on the court, mainly because of his obvious physical advantage. Even though Shaq isn’t as athletic as he was in his prime, it would still be difficult for Durant and Curry to defend him.

From 1996 to 2004, Shaq and Kobe dominated with the Lakers, winning a historic three-peat from 2000 to 2002 and turning the franchise into a dynasty.

Meanwhile, Curry and Durant nearly repeated that feat with the Warriors, reaching the NBA Finals every year from 2016 to 2019 and winning titles in 2017 and 2018, before falling short to the Raptors in 2019.

So, even though all four players left a historic mark on the NBA, Overtime’s proposal doesn’t seem very realistic.
