Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson made some comments regarding the issues currently surrounding Golden State Warriors player Jimmy Butler. The former football player expressed strong criticism of Butler’s financial advisors due to the lawsuit he is currently facing.

Unfortunately, Butler continues to make headlines for negative reasons, despite his success with his NBA team. Since his forced departure from the Miami Heat, he has stood out with the Warriors, winning 9 out of 10 games. Now, the last thing this NBA star needs is a problem that distracts him from his duties.

Strong criticism of Jimmy Butler’s situation

In an episode of Nightcap, Sharpe commented that the lawsuit against Butler, filed by his former landlord, amounts to nearly $800,000 in unpaid rent, as well as some damages to the property he had rented in Miami Beach. The landlord claims that Butler changed the door locks, allegedly preventing the owner from entering, which led to structural damage due to lack of maintenance.

Additionally, Shannon Sharpe stated that Butler was paying $130,000 per month in rent. He then expressed: “1.5 million dollars for a 10-million-dollar house? That’s crazy. That’s insane.” However, it seems that Sharpe’s figures are incorrect, as the rental property was actually valued at 30 million dollars, not 10 million.

Jimmy Butler was already set on leaving the heat

Another point raised in Sharpe and Johnson’s show was the reason Jimmy Butler was renting the property. Apparently, his actions indicate that he was determined to force his way out of the Miami Heat. In fact, he sold his house over the summer for $8.3 million.

This sale happened right after the season ended. Therefore, for the Pro Football Hall of Famer, this is proof that Butler knew he would be leaving the Heat soon.

Now, the Warriors are hoping that Jimmy can reach a settlement with his plaintiff. His arrival has helped the team climb to sixth place in the Western Conference, following a series of victories.
