LeBron James made headlines when he appeared on Everybody’s Crazy, the podcast hosted by his wife, Savannah. He revealed what he believes men should be aware of regarding women. He called some women “ruthless”, issuing a warning to NBA players about certain relationships. Paul Pierce seems to agree with the basketball superstar.
For James, not every woman who approaches NBA players does so out of love. Pierce recently shared his opinion, often emphasizing the mistakes men make when choosing a partner impulsively.
Monogamy or lifelong singlehood?
According to The Sports Rush, Paul Pierce once said, “Marriage is for old people and the poor.” About James’ comments, he added: “It’s not an advantage for a man. What happens when things go wrong? Do we have to give up half our stuff, pay child support? It’s only advantageous for a woman.”

Even though Pierce does not fully agree with James’ views on marriage and monogamy, he agreed with him on one point: the cunning behavior of some women. “Women are much more ruthless. They’re setting up guys. Making them pay. Making them suffer. Some women have a one-track mind: ‘I will prepare this guy. Get him on child support.’”
It is clear that not all women fit this description. However, when fame and money are involved, it becomes harder for men to find someone genuinely willing to share love without ulterior motives.
“I’ve seen it in divorces where the woman tries to take everything. He gave her a life, and women try to take it all. Damn, where did the love go?” Pierce stated.
This topic is delicate. While some women may act as described, some men also make mistakes. It’s not a gender issue but one of awareness. Both James and Pierce want to prevent NBA players from facing these situations. Their comments may not please everyone, but they reflect their perspective and experience.
