LeBron James, one of the most iconic figures in basketball, recently surprised fans by speaking openly about his marriage to Savannah James. His heartfelt confession came during the latest episode of the podcast “Everybody’s Crazy,” hosted by Savannah and April McDaniel, where James, 40, shared personal details about his family life.
Willing to do whatever it takes for his relationship
According to the New York Post, the Lakers star admitted he is ready to “fight, crawl, scratch, and bite” to keep his marriage strong. He also emphasized the vital role Savannah plays in his emotional stability.
“I have to do what I have to do. I don’t want to be alone. I’m an only child, single-parent family. I knew it for sure… when I met Vannah, I thought: ‘This is crazy. This is amazing. I love this.’ And I thought: ‘No, forget being alone. Next time I’m alone, I’ll be underneath,’” James explained.
The 21-time NBA All-Star also addressed the challenges many professional athletes face in their relationships. In a serious tone, he warned about the “ruthless and cruel women” that some of his teammates have encountered.
“I sit in the locker room, and there are so many women here who have now changed the game… And some friends are trying to do right, trying to fix it. And now they look in the mirror and say: ‘Damn, what did I do wrong?’” LeBron James said, highlighting the pressures that fame brings.
In a previous interview with Complex, LeBron acknowledged that his marriage has not always been easy. “Things won’t always be a bed of roses. But if you are willing to overcome challenges, it will be worth it,” he said, showing that he has become a role model not only on the court but also as a husband and father.
Meanwhile, the “King” prepares for his 23rd NBA season, although he will miss the start due to right-side sciatica. Despite retirement rumors, LeBron remains focused on his health, family, and legacy.
