NBA legend Kendrick Perkins publicly apologized to Michael Jordan for hiding his preference for Jordan Brand during his time in the league. In reality, the former Celtics player always wore Nike and Adidas gear. But was that the whole truth? Not exactly.

Perkins recently made an interesting confession that didn’t go unnoticed. Although he didn’t say it outright, he strongly hinted that—just like Mike Bibby—he wore Jordan Brand shoes throughout his career.

A well-kept secret

It turns out Kendrick Perkins also wore Jordans. He even shared an Instagram story that implied it. In the post, he wrote:
“Watching The Last Dance for the hundredth time and still mad at myself for calling Bron the GOAT. I miss those J boxes at the 🐐’s front door.
Can someone tell MJ I’m sorry, man 🤣🤣🤣?”

This wasn’t the first time Perkins shared something like this. Back in March, during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take with Stephen A. Smith, he admitted:
MJ is petty as hell… Now, if you look in my closet, it’s nothing but [Jordans]. I keep J’s on my feet… I used to get boxes in the mail all the time, even before they hit stores.”

However, according to a report from Essentiallysports, once Perkins dared to call LeBron the GOAT, “those boxes stopped coming.” Many of his followers doubt the story since he was often seen wearing Nike. Still, some photos show him wearing Jordans in a few games.

But Perkins isn’t exactly LeBron James’ favorite person either. Last year, the Lakers star even unfollowed him on social media. Why? Because Perkins said on First Take that he no longer had LeBron’s number after making a comment that didn’t sit well with the King of the court.

Stephen A. commented on the situation:
Kendrick Perkins says one negative word about LeBron James, and LeBron James blocks him.
Despite that, Perkins still supports James.
