After 11 seasons in the NBA, former Washington Wizards star John Wall announced his retirement. He was one of the franchise’s standout players and earned five NBA All-Star selections. That’s why his announcement didn’t go unnoticed among his fans.

He shared the news through his Instagram and X accounts, and it sparked an outpouring of positive reactions from his followers. Many unforgettable memories from this player will remain in the hearts of NBA lovers.

A grand exit from the NBA

According to Firstsportz, after Wall posted his retirement message, thousands of messages of love and support flooded in. He made a lasting impact in the NBA community, especially with the Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, and Houston Rockets.

The five-time NBA All-Star from Kentucky uploaded an emotional video with the caption: “Retired but never done. Doing it the #WallWay.” The clip offers a short but powerful recap of his journey through professional basketball in the United States.

Wall, a family-oriented man, also used the video to thank his loved ones—especially his mother—for their support. At one point, he says: “I gave this game everything I had.” It seems he’s walking away in peace, knowing he gave his all on the court.

Although some may think it’s too soon, John Wall’s retirement has a strong reason behind it—his injury struggles during his final years in the league.

In light of that, his fans’ support has been extraordinary. One fan wrote on X: “One of my favorite PGs! Enjoy retirement, legend.” Another said: “What a career. Nobody’s forgotten your game, brother. Trust.”

Another fan shared a heartfelt message:
“The next chapter will be one for the books, brother. Incredible career. I appreciate the friendship and the chance to be part of the story alongside Jak, Bane, Flav, Ty, E, aka Pardo.”
