LeBron James chose to spend time in Ohio, his home state. There, people have spotted him playing golf and training, making the most of the NBA offseason. He may soon start an intense workout regimen to perform at his best for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2025-26 season.

That season will mark his 23rd year in professional basketball. However, many have started questioning whether he remains loyal to the Lakers, especially after the franchise began making moves seemingly aligned with Luka Doncic’s interests.

LeBron stays in touch with the team

According to a report by First Sportz, this could be LeBron James’s final NBA season. Still, that hasn’t weakened his motivation to win another championship with the Lakers.
Meanwhile, the team’s front office decided to shift their focus and create more salary cap flexibility. What does that mean? Could it signal a lack of full commitment to winning the league? That’s something the King of the Court may not appreciate.

Despite everything, the Lakers traded for key players who could help the team go far next season. Also, despite being physically distant, James has stayed in regular communication with his teammates.

Journalist Brett Siegel confirmed this. In fact, he stated that the four-time champion frequently talks to Lakers players, even discussing salary cap changes and major roster moves.

The takeaway? It seems the King of the Court isn’t trying to pressure the Lakers as many originally believed. He appears to be taking things calmly, but that doesn’t mean he has lost the desire to win another title with his home team—the Lakers.
