Draymond Green has witnessed LeBron James’ rise in the NBA, and recently explained why he believes “The King” deserves the GOAT title over Michael Jordan. However, NBA fans strongly disagreed and criticized him.

LeBron James has always been part of the GOAT debate alongside Michael Jordan. He is about to enter his 23rd NBA season and has achieved remarkable success during two decades. He shined with both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers, making him a strong GOAT candidate.

A comparison that failed to convince fans

According to Firstsportz, Warriors star Draymond Green emphasized what he has seen James accomplish on the court. He also has a close friendship with the Lakers’ star, which influences his preference for LeBron as the GOAT.

During Kai Cenat’s livestream, someone asked Green about the differences between James and Jordan. The veteran answered:
“MJ is crazy. I grew up watching MJ. But it’s not just JR. If you look at some of the guys LeBron had to lead… I don’t think MJ had many players who went through that. I respect Delly a lot, but he sucks… Winning with guys like that? MJ wasn’t winning with Matthew Dellavedova.”

With that, the four-time NBA champion used Dellavedova as an example to show how James managed to win a title with average teammates, something he believes Jordan could not have done.

After those comments, fans blasted Green, claiming his argument was invalid. Many called it the “worst example” he could have chosen to defend LeBron, and others argued that Green’s judgment was clouded, bringing up Jordan’s legendary accomplishments in the NBA.
