Simone Biles shared her thoughts on the Netflix series “Simone Biles Rising,” which was recently nominated for an Emmy. The documentary is competing for the Primetime Emmy Award in the Best Documentary category.

The production team sent the Olympic gymnast a gift box along with the nomination announcement. She posted it on her social media, expressing disbelief over what she’s experiencing.

According to a report from Sportskeeda, Biles took a photo of the Netflix package and wrote: “Thank you to my @netflix family for the sweet gift. I still can’t believe we’re nominated for an EMMY for Simone Biles Rising.”

A look into Simone Biles’ life

The documentary “Simone Biles Rising” has been streaming on the Netflix OTT platform since July 17, 2024. Due to the huge success of its first season, the second part premiered on October 25, 2025.

Even though she has become a global icon in gymnastics, Biles feels it may be time to stop. She hasn’t confirmed whether she’ll participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, but based on her recent statements, it seems she has no intention of returning.

“I’ve achieved a lot. There’s not much left to do, instead of being snobby and trying again—what for? I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to stop,” she said in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

She also understands the sacrifices involved:
“If you come back, you’re being greedy. That’s the consequence. But it’s your decision. What sacrifices would I have to make if I return now? When you’re younger, it’s things like prom and college. Now it’s about starting a family, being away from my husband. What is really worth it?”

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Biles won three gold medals and one silver, making her one of the most decorated gymnasts in history. Perhaps that’s why she lacks motivation to return to competition—although witnessing her talent again in Los Angeles would be unforgettable.
