Recently, Pat McAfee made an announcement that left all his fans surprised. The presenter, known as one of the most recognized names in sports media, has earned his reputation by knowing his sports inside and out. Throughout his life, he has split his time between American football and soccer, with playing experience in both disciplines.

However, his most popular shows are within the NFL and CFB. Now, Pat McAfee is entering a new professional phase with plans to expand into a new sport. In fact, it was through his Instagram account that McAfee revealed some details about his upcoming project.

Pat McAfee opens up to new projects

Under the title “CONCAFA Soccer Show,” Pat McAfee is aiming to capture a new audience that’s eager and fascinated with soccer. This project appears to be one he will personally present.

In the post, Pat McAfee dropped a few breadcrumbs to shed some light on what it’s about. For example, he tagged himself and included a short yet enthusiastic message to the entire production team of the show: “Let’s go, guys!”

There’s no specific air date for the show yet. However, Pat McAfee mentioned in the same post that it’s “coming soon.” Fans have reacted positively to the announcement, a mix of surprise and anticipation for what’s to come. McAfee seems interested in keeping his investments within soccer, where he already has several entrepreneurial ventures.

A challenging terrain

Even though Pat McAfee has a long career, he’s not immune to setbacks, and there’s no guarantee of success. While he has done well with the NFL and CFB, he’s now targeting a different audience. It’s worth remembering that he recently faced some issues when he participated as a presenter in WWE.

Rather than winning fans over, Pat McAfee faced harsh rejection due to comments he made that angered Canadian viewers. Although he apologized, the damage was done, and the negative comments have not diminished. So, it remains to be seen how his new show will be received. Despite the controversy, ESPN did not take any dismissal action against him.
