Sparse communication
The last time King Charles and Prince Harry saw each other was back in February 2024, and since then, their contact has been minimal. In May, the Duke of Sussex told the BBC that his father “doesn’t want to talk to him.” This came amid his legal battle with the Home Office over the removal of his publicly funded security. Harry lost the case, exposing not just political tensions but deeply personal ones as well.

Prince William, meanwhile, has remained publicly silent. No statements, no gestures, not even a hint that he’s willing to break the ice. In sports terms, it’s as if the team captain refuses to show up for the derby—even with his rival in town and the King trying to mediate.
Clear distance
The rift between the brothers isn’t new. Since Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah in 2021, followed by their Netflix documentary and the memoir “Spare,” the siblings have played in entirely different leagues. Prince William has chosen the silent strategy, while Prince Harry has gone all-in on public storytelling.
What’s striking is that while the world waits for a Wembley-style reconciliation, both players seem more comfortable in their corners. And even though King Charles keeps trying to build bridges, the match remains postponed. No date, no neutral referee, and above all, no willingness to play from either Prince William or Prince Harry. The scoreboard between them is frozen.
