The fight between Canelo Alvarez and Crawford is just around the corner. Tensions rise every day as they prepare to clash in Las Vegas on September 13. Now, William Scull made a comment about Canelo that gained huge media attention.

Scull, Canelo’s most recent rival, fired a statement that lit up social media. He also stirred a strong debate among boxing fans because he directly questioned Canelo’s ability in the ring.

Scull’s personal view on Canelo

According to Mundo Deportivo, Cuban fighter William Scull declared: “Canelo doesn’t have great power.” Having faced the Mexican champion, he insisted that the legend surrounding Canelo’s punch doesn’t match reality in the boxing world.

“His punches don’t scare you. He’s a legend, but he doesn’t have great power, not the kind of strength that can demolish you.” With those words, he downplayed what Canelo might do to Crawford in their upcoming fight.

Scull argued that a clear physical difference exists between Alvarez and Crawford. For him, that factor could influence the outcome in the ring. “Because of that difference, the fight is 75-25. I believe Canelo will be the winner that night,” he said.

Still, the Cuban acknowledged the Mexican’s skill and experience in boxing. “If there wasn’t such a weight disadvantage, the fight would be 50-50,” he admitted, showing respect for Canelo.

This fight is one of the most anticipated showdowns in boxing. It will be a battle of titans that could mark a milestone in the sport. While Alvarez seeks to silence doubts about his legitimacy as champion, Crawford aims to expand his legacy.
