Travis Kelce’s 2025 season has been about more than touchdowns and receptions. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is shining, no doubt about that. But there’s a curious trend that’s caught the attention of fans and media alike. His stats noticeably improve when Taylor Swift is in the stadium.

According to data compiled by sports outlet TheSportsRush, Travis Kelce averages 5 catches and 77 receiving yards per game when the pop superstar is cheering from the stands. Without her, those numbers drop to 4.4 catches and 51.5 yards. On top of that, the Chiefs are undefeated (3-0) in games where Taylor Swift is present. Sparking all kinds of theories among fans.

Recent loss

The Chiefs’ latest defeat—21-28 against the Buffalo Bills—coincided with Taylor Swift’s absence from Highmark Stadium. The singer spent the weekend in New York, about six hours from Buffalo, and wasn’t seen at the game. She had attended Travis Kelce’s previous three home games at Arrowhead Stadium, but this time chose a quiet evening in Manhattan.

For the past two seasons, Taylor Swift has kept a low profile at stadiums, mostly for security reasons. A source cited by Page Six explained that she only attends Travis Kelce’s home games, and only in venues that have been thoroughly inspected beforehand. Even at Arrowhead, she avoids being photographed entering and rarely appears on broadcasts.

Consistent support

Despite her low visibility, Swift’s support for Travis Kelce remains strong. In a recent interview on The Tonight Show, the singer admitted she was “very present” during the game. Even if not physically at the stadium. Her relationship with Kelce has been one of the most talked-about stories of the year, and it seems to be influencing his performance as well.

Travis Kelce, for his part, stays locked in on football. With over 500 receiving yards so far this season, he remains a key piece in Kansas City’s offensive scheme and his chemistry with Patrick Mahomes continues to thrive. But the numbers don’t lie. When Taylor Swift is nearby, Kelce plays better.

Is it coincidence, emotional motivation, or just statistical luck? One thing’s clear—the “Swift effect” is now part of the NFL 2025 storyline. And if the Chiefs want to keep Travis Kelce firing on all cylinders, they might want to make sure the pop icon has a reserved seat at every big game.
