Jason Kelce traveled to Kansas City to join the broadcast of Monday Night Football. There his brother Travis Kelce led the Chiefs to a commanding 28-7 victory over the Washington Commanders. However, the former Eagles center used the trip for something more personal — to finally visit 1587 Prime. The high-end steakhouse opened in September by Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
Jason dined there with his father, Ed Kelce, and didn’t hold back his praise. On his podcast New Heights, he said, “It’s fantastic. It’s a high-end steakhouse and very well done. I thought it was interesting; there’s a lot more creativity in it.” His comments reflected both admiration and pride for his younger brother’s growing ventures beyond the field.
From burgers to cocktails with a personal touch
According to Athlonsports, Jason sampled signature dishes like “The Big Red,” a burger inspired by coach Andy Reid, a cheesesteak, and some meatballs he described as “fantastic.” He also tried cocktails with personal meaning — the “Big Yeti” and the “Alchemy”, named after Travis Kelce and his fiancée, Taylor Swift.
Jason admired how his brother infused his own personality into the menu. “I think the most Travis Kelce thing is that he’s got a lot of regular food done at a high-end level,… Trav, for a long time, ate like a kid. And now, we’re in a steakhouse, and there are some childhood dishes done at a really high level.”
Travis appreciated his brother’s enthusiastic review and publicly invited fans to visit the restaurant. Jason, however, added a friendly warning: “I highly recommend making a reservation in advance because it’s not easy to get in, folks.”
Located inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel, 1587 Prime has quickly. Become one of the city’s most sought-after dining experiences, blending luxury, creativity, and the unmistakable charisma of the Kelce-Mahomes duo.
