LeBron James will not play in the Los Angeles Lakers’ first game of the new NBA season. His sciatic injury will reportedly keep him off the court for a while. However, Stephen A. Smith is targeting him once again.

This time, he did it during an appearance on Carmelo Anthony’s podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn, where Smith went off on the NBA superstar. Their feud has become personal ever since LeBron confronted him publicly last year.

A situation orchestrated by LeBron?

According to a report by The Sports Rush, Stephen A. Smith offered a different perspective on the incident. Now, he is accusing LeBron of conspiring against him, stating: “The day he walked up on me on that court… that was the same day they announced my contract, that I was staying with ESPN. Go back and look at the camera angles. I got there in the first quarter. He walked up in the third.”

“This is 2025… We have technology everywhere. TNT is a nationally televised game. How is it that we only have one angle, and the only angle you see is of him and his face, but all you see of me is the back of my peanut head? How is that the only angle you saw? How?” asked the First Take host.

Smith also accused LeBron of coordinating that confrontation on purpose. In his view, LeBron’s goal was to make himself look good and make Stephen A. look bad. Still, considering the All-Star’s personality, it is difficult to believe that such a conspiracy theory could be true.

Smith, meanwhile, has already built a reputation for going after NBA players and making things personal. Just last week, Alexis Ohanian put him in his place after Smith’s comments about Serena Williams’ appearance in the Super Bowl halftime show.

Even so, it seems the host enjoys staying in the headlines, just like he did after his clash with LeBron. After all, he appears in every major sports outlet, just the way he likes it.
