Aaron Rodgers breaks his silence: unexpected advice for the Steelers 311-pound star after his viral play

In the middle of a season marked by ups and downs, the Dallas Cowboys have found a spark in the connection between Dak Prescott and George Pickens. The quarterback has regained his form after the injury that sidelined him in 2024. He’s also found in Pickens a receiver who can deliver on the field and help reignite the Cowboys’ offensive rhythm.

George Pickens, acquired in May from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for third- and fifth-round picks, arrived in Dallas surrounded by uncertainty. His off-field ups and downs raised concerns, but in just six games, he’s proven his talent is no fluke. With 32 receptions, 525 yards, and six touchdowns, Pickens ranks among the NFL’s top aerial producers. That’s why Dak Prescott doesn’t want him going anywhere.

Shielding the offensive system

The chemistry between Dak Prescott and George Pickens was immediate. With CeeDee Lamb sidelined due to injury, Pickens became the quarterback’s favorite target—and not just because of his stats. His energy, competitiveness, and quick adaptation to the offensive system have been key to keeping the Cowboys afloat as they search for consistency.

Still, despite Dak Prescott’s wishes, George Pickens’ future in Dallas remains uncertain. The receiver is in the final year of his rookie contract. While his performance suggests an immediate extension, team owner Jerry Jones is taking a cautious approach. In statements published by Marca, Jones acknowledged Pickens’ value but insisted that any contract decision will be made “in due time.”

Prescott wants Pickens to stay

Dak Prescott, however, isn’t planning to wait. The quarterback publicly stated that he intends to speak directly with Jones to ensure George Pickens stays in Dallas. “When I catch him in a private moment, I’ll make sure,” Prescott told reporters, according to coverage from The Athletic and other U.S. outlets.

Dak Prescott’s stance is more than just leadership—it’s a sign that the locker room backs George Pickens. The receiver is described as a “plus-value” presence by teammates and coaches, and his impact goes beyond the stat sheet.

With the Cowboys already investing heavily in Lamb and other key players, renewing Pickens could become a financial challenge. But Dak Prescott has made it clear: he’s willing to play off the field too, if that’s what it takes to keep his new partner.

The story is still unfolding. But if Dallas wants to stay competitive, keeping Pickens might be the most important pass Dak Prescott throws this season.
