The WNBA season 2 was far from easy for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. An early injury kept her off the court just as the competition began. Although the team managed to reach the playoffs, they fell short of the victory they had hoped for. Still, Clark is determined to make her comeback by late October.

As she continues her recovery process, Clark has been enjoying the first days of her offseason. On Sunday, she received a personalized surprise from the Indianapolis Colts, an act that didn’t go unnoticed among fans.

A special gift for Caitlin Clark

According to Athlonsports, the Colts gifted Caitlin Clark a custom jersey with the number 22 and her last name before their home game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The gesture served as both a recognition of her growing impact in the WNBA and a celebration of the connection between the city’s NFL franchise and its rising basketball star.

However, Clark has never hidden her true football allegiance. Despite supporting the Colts as her local team, her heart belongs to the Kansas City Chiefs. She has been a devoted fan for years and never hesitates to share her passion publicly.

During last season’s AFC Wild Card Game between the Chiefs and the Houston Texans, Clark was spotted cheering in the stands alongside singer Taylor Swift, who is engaged to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Clark’s love for the Chiefs runs deep. In a 2024 episode of the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, she revealed how her fandom began:
“I had family in Kansas City and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, just three hours away. That was the closest NFL team. My dad was a huge Chiefs fan. People think I joined because of Patrick or Travis, but no—I was there long before that. My brother idolized Tony Gonzalez, and we went to at least one game a year because my cousin lived in Kansas City.”

Now, as she continues to recover and prepare for her next WNBA season, Caitlin Clark balances her passion for basketball with her lifelong love for football—a connection that continues to inspire fans across both sports.
