Long before retiring from football, back in 2003, Brady appeared in a comedy film starring Matt Damon and directed by the Farrelly brothers. Recently, the GOAT opened up about that experience and how he feels about it today.
Brady sees his acting debut as a personal failure
According to Essentiallysports, the former NFL star admitted—after more than 20 years—that acting is not his strong suit. “We went out the night before until four in the morning, and I can’t believe we had to show up on set the next day,” Brady recalled. “They definitely over-served me that night, but it was a fun day because I remember being there with Matt Damon, Bobby and Peter Farrelly—we had a great time.”
He added, “My acting wasn’t great, but I’m glad we did it anyway. You always learn something from experiences like that, and I definitely learned I could improve my acting skills.”
A short but memorable cameo in Hollywood
That small role in Stuck on You showed Brady how much preparation acting requires. It was his first on-screen appearance, where he played a computer geek sporting early-2000s-style sideburns. Though brief, it became a fun and educational moment for him.
Even if Brady considers his performance a failure, the film earned a 62% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 156 reviews. Financially, it performed decently—grossing $65.7 million worldwide on a $55 million budget—so it wasn’t the flop Brady imagined.
