Travis Kelce is no stranger to the spotlight. But this time, it didn’t shine on him. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, a standout in the NFL and one half of the year’s most talked-about romance with Taylor Swift, took a hit off the field. His popular podcast New Heights, co-hosted with his brother Jason, was excluded from the Golden Globes’ new category honoring top audio shows.

Outlets like Marca reported that the podcast’s omission surprised many. New Heights is among the most streamed in the U.S., thanks to its mix of humor, authenticity, and its close connection with sports fans. Still, the list of 25 nominated podcasts—curated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in partnership with Luminate—leaned toward political voices and traditional entertainment figures. Travis Kelce, despite his massive reach, didn’t make the cut.

But he did make Swift’s album launch

Ironically, the snub came on the same day Taylor Swift dropped her new album The Life of a Showgirl. The project is packed with personal references, many of them inspired by Travis Kelce. The singer shared intimate details about their relationship, including the custom engagement ring designed by the athlete himself and the track “Opalite,” which reflects their emotional bond. She even confirmed that Ed Sheeran will perform at their wedding, though the location remains under wraps.

While Hollywood closed one door, Taylor Swift opened another—her musical world, where Travis Kelce is both muse and main character. The artist called him “the funniest person on the planet” and said their relationship has reshaped how she sees life and writes songs.

Chasing the AFC West

On the field, Travis Kelce remains a cornerstone for the Chiefs, who are aiming to reclaim the AFC West title. Despite some ups and downs this season, the player continues to deliver. His influence in the locker room and beyond is undeniable. And thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift, every game feels like a cultural moment.

The Golden Globes snub doesn’t erase Travis Kelce’s impact. Beyond awards, his story with Taylor Swift has crossed boundaries between sports, music, and pop storytelling. Even without a nomination, the tight end keeps winning in other arenas. His podcast with Jason Kelce remains one of the most listened to, proving that real connection with fans doesn’t need a trophy.
