Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever are on the verge of the WNBA Finals. The franchise last reached this stage a decade ago, during White’s first season with the team.

Now that history seems to be repeating itself, she shared her thoughts—surprisingly different from what fans might expect. This season has been far from easy with so many injuries, yet her players have proven they are tough, resilient, and ready to win a championship.

A unique and inspiring feeling

According to Athlonsports, White recently reflected on how far she and the Fever have come, just before facing the Las Vegas Aces. When asked about the moment she is living, she gave an honest response:
“The strange thing is that the designs have been so different each time I’ve been part of this… Coming full circle, doing it with Bri [former Fever player and now assistant coach Briann January], with Tash [player Natasha Howard], with Rima [assistant coach Karima Christmas-Kelly], who was on our 2012 team, and Austin [assistant coach Austin Kelly], who was a practice player back then, just makes it special.”

For White, it’s clearly a unique moment as head coach. She added: “I think each of us believed we could be in this position, but with everything that has happened throughout the season, being one game away, being able to play in a Game 5 in a series like this, just makes everything we went through worth it.”

The Fever lost five key players to injuries, making the playoff run much harder. Despite that, they showed remarkable resilience and skill to overcome opponents. Today, White has full confidence in her players as they face another elite team—the Las Vegas Aces.
