The Kansas City Chiefs kicked off the 2025 season with more questions than answers. And now, the hit didn’t come from the field—it came from the broadcast booth. Tom Brady, NFL legend and current Fox Sports analyst, left the Chiefs out of his top 10 teams after Week 3. This wasn’t a casual oversight—it was a warning.

According to Thesportsrush, this marks the first time since Tom Brady took on his role as commentator that he’s excluded the Chiefs from his list. And he did it at a moment when Andy Reid’s squad is off to a shaky start. Two straight losses and a hard-fought 22–9 win over the Giants. A far cry from the dominance they showed in 2024, when they opened the season with eight consecutive wins.

The undefeated take the spotlight

Tom Brady’s ranking favored the undefeated. Eagles, Bills, Chargers, and Buccaneers took the top spots. Meanwhile, the Chiefs dropped to 12th in MLFootball’s standings. The offense, led by Patrick Mahomes, is averaging just 20 points per game, and the defense has been leaking more than usual. Even Travis Kelce has had missteps, including a sideline exchange with Reid that hinted at internal tension

Tom Brady didn’t name the Chiefs directly, but he did praise the Eagles’ comeback against the Rams—and even compared it to his own legendary rally in Super Bowl LI. The message between the lines is clear: teams that respond under pressure are the ones that deserve to be at the top.

Tough road ahead

The schedule isn’t easing up either. The Chiefs will face the Ravens next, a team that’s racked up 111 points in three games, though they’ve also allowed 96. After that, it’s the Jaguars, Lions, and Raiders. If Mahomes and company want to earn back Tom Brady’s respect—and that of the rest of the league—they’ll need to return to their most dominant version.

In Kansas City, they know rankings don’t win games—but they do shape perception. And when Tom Brady stops mentioning you, it’s time to revisit the playbook. Right now, the Chiefs are under scrutiny. And the clock is ticking.
