Draymond Green doesn’t think Josh Allen is “the guy” to win a Super Bowl

Draymond Green doesn’t need to play in the NFL to stir up a debate. The Golden State Warriors forward jumped into the football conversation—this time to take aim at Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. On the podcast “Why is Draymond Green Talking About Football,” the four-time NBA champion claimed Allen “isn’t the guy” who can win a Super Bowl when it really matters.

His comments came right after the Bills pulled off a comeback win against Lamar Jackson’s Ravens in Week 1. But for Draymond Green, those kinds of victories mean nothing if they don’t lead to championships. “Josh Allen is a great quarterback, but that doesn’t make you the guy. He’s never going to get it done when it counts,” Green said. The quote, repeated with emphasis, is already making the rounds online: “He’s not the guy!”

Green says Allen doesn’t have what it takes

Josh Allen, the NFL’s 2024 MVP, has led the Bills to five straight division titles and two AFC Championship appearances. Still, he’s fallen short both times against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs—just one step away from the big game. According to Draymond Green, that pattern proves Allen lacks what it takes to make the final leap. Even with seven playoff wins, more than Dak Prescott, Allen still hasn’t reached the Super Bowl.
